Efter vår första natt på
Hampton Inn Portage, så är det
9 mil via
Chicago
till
Six Flags Great America.
Här har man byggt en alldeles ny vatten park i år att
komplettera dom 40 åkattraktioner varav 12 bergochdalbanor.
Parkens historia börjar med projektering 1972 av Marriott
Corporation att bygga en park i Florida, men valet föll på
Gurnee i staten
Illinois. |

1974 började man bygga parken och den
invigdes med ett tiotal attraktioner den 29:e maj 1976.
Den 23:e maj 1981 öppnar man värdens högsta trä bana,
American Eagle en
39 meter hög racer med ett högsta drop på 45 meter. Sedan 2000 kör
man det ena tåget baklänges.
Six Flags köper parken i maj 1984.
Shockwave öppnar
den 3:e juni 1988 som värdens högsta Roller Coaster.
I parken denna dag roar sig dom "riktiga" nördarna denna dag,

Kids young and old will love the good, clean, pirate-y fun of Six Flags
Hurricane Harbor's star attraction Skull Island, the largest interactive water
playground in the world with 100,000 square feet of climbing, sliding, splashing,
soaking fun for kids and adults, alike. This multi-story interactive waterplay
area will feature nearly 500 water gadgets, eight water slides, an "erupting"
volcano and three enormous buckets that periodically drench guests with
thousands of gallons of water.
The entrance to this dazzling maze of twisting slides, shipwrecks, and
thatch-roofed canopies is Skull Tower, a 66-foot walk-up structure from which
two serpentine slides originate. Dubbed Skull Tower because of the six-foot
skull that greets visitors from atop the structure, the tower will be topped
with an eight-foot bucket that douses guests every 10 minutes with more than
1,100 gallons of water.

Déjà Vu sends riders
dangling face-down up the first 90-degree tower, then dropping 178 feet at

rocketing up the second 178-foot tower. This time, riders are on their back

After entering through the Gotham City
portal, visitors stroll through Bruce Wayne's beautiful landscaped
Gotham City Park, complete with ornate sculptures and an ongoing concert

As unsuspecting guest venture further the
peacefulness of Gotham City Park is suddenly disturbed by unsettling
noise in the streets, which are now ruled by Batman's arch enemies.

Visitors will encounter a crashed police car, broken fire hydrant and other
evidence of the growing chaos in the streets. Once in the underground
tunnels beneath Gotham City, guests will finally escape through the
Batcave to be whisked away on Batman's newest crime-fighting
device, Batman The Ride.
Batman The Ride combines state-of-the-art thrill ride technology with
Batman movie magic. Suspended from the track above in skilift-style
chairs, riders fly at intense speeds countless times over the outside of
