			Bobbejaanland
is a very nice Belgian family park, with several attractions for the
entire family. The park offers the people five coasters, and a lot
of water pleasure in rides like El Rio, the sensation of 2000.
			Do
			not fear rain, because
Bobbejaanland offers a lot of indoor rides. Also for children this
			is paradise.
			It
used to be a cowboy-park, but now it is a complete park. Be sure to
visit also the very unique museum about the Indians. |

The early beginning of Bobbejaanland in
			1962 (Copyright -
			Bobbejaanland) |
The founder of this park is
Bobbejaan Schoepen. He like to see himself the general. His wife
Josee is the colonel, and their 5 children (Bob, Myriam, Jacky,
			Peggy and Tom) are officers.
Bobbejaan Schoepen was one of the most
famous singers, that Belgium has ever known. He has participated to
the Eurovisionsong-contest, he also has crossed the ocean to sing in
Amerika. He has a lot of famous friends, all over the world.
Back in Belgium, he started to cross
the country with his own circus. He also was many times in the
Netherlands. After a while they looked for a place to stay, a place
where people could easy come to. And he has found that place, which
we know now as Bobbejaanland. |

			|

			   |
			In the beginning
he installed a few extra attractions, so people would come over to
			visit his shows.
He started with designing the park in a
western style, with a great museum about the Indian culture.
After all this years Bobbejaanland has become one of the most
			important European familyparks.
The last years the theming has been
approved, to attract the people, and to give them an authentic
feeling in some areas of the park

			Bobbejaanland
is packed to the brim with superb rides and attractions, and
probably was the park we had most fun at on this trip.

I spent a day at Bobbejaanland with
some friends. It was fabulous! At the entrance we saw that giant
			boat, the

			Santa Maria.
It makes an arc of 180 degrees, it's
like rocking on a wild sea. It was so much fun we did it twice.

			Then we saw the

Water Slide, so we all went aboard one of those little boats.
It went so fast that we couldn't help screaming.
I think the whole park must have heard.
But the wildest thing was that we were
all soaking wet when we got out and that all people were staring at
			us. |

			|

			   |
			Of
course tough guys like us had to try all roller coasters.

			The Looping Star and the

Air Race are really our cup of tea!

Sitting all the way in the front and
holding our hands high above our heads, we wheeled and skimmed
			through the loops and curves.

What a gorgeous feeling that was! The

Revolution, with is incredible effects, was great too.

			Bobbejaanland
show offers its visitors a very great show for the entire family,
with lots of dance and music. It is definately a 'must do'! |

			We had a lot of

junk food and nobody nagging at us about it being unhealthy
			and stuff.
With a coke in our hands we went to

Indiana River... where we got wet again. Good thing the
			weather was nice.

Let's see, what else did we do? Oh yes,
			the

Texas Bull. We made a bet who
would stay on its back for the longest time and guess who won?
			I did, of course.

			El Paso Special was
great fun too. There you can shoot at all kinds of targets.
I think I hit some forty of them.

We had so much fun, and then we didn't
even have time to try out all attractions.
But we'll be back soon, that's for sure |

			   |
			Geoffrey and I had been
thinking about making a day trip with the kids for some time, so one
day we decided to try Bobbejaanland. It turned out to be the best
			choice we'd made in years!

It's a beautiful park, and the

food is very nice. Everything's in
tip-top order, the toilets are clean, the waiting times for the
attractions are short and the staff is friendly and helpful.

For an overview of the park you can
			take the

Monorail, or go high up in the air with the

Ferris Wheel. There are also interesting educational
			attractions like the

			Indian Art Museum,

			Cowboy Town and

			Time Tunnel.

			In

Sky Pedalo you have to cover an entire track on tandem
			bicycles, and in

Big Bang Geoffrey and I laughed like little children!

			Talking about children,

Children's Land was just great for the little ones.
Everything there really is built to their size, they've really
thought of everything. There are countless

Merry-go-rounds and the children went on them again and
again. There was so much for them there they even couldn't try it
			all.

			I liked the

Shows very much too. In short, we had a great time. And the
kids? Well, on our way back to the car Kim suddenly said in a very
serious voice: "Mom, I wanna come back tomorrow!" What more can I
			say? |

			   |
The park contains not one, but
two log flumes. One is your standard flume ride in the open, but the
other, Indiana River, is enclosed in a building.

			The inside is very elaborately
decorated, the loading turntable immersed in a jungle scene.
This is themed along the lines of an Indiana
Jones adventure, and the ride takes you through the jungle, meeting
			various hazards along the way.

But be warned, this is exceedingly wet!
The very last drop in particular, although not high, deposits its
victims right in the water and wherever you site, you'll get
			soaked. |

			  |

			|

			   |
			Finally, we come to the
ubiquitous river rapids ride. It has a couple of unique features
			though.

Firstly, there is a strange contraption
which lifts the boats out of the station and up to the start of the
river channel, whereupon the boats are released and slide down a
slope and into the water. |

			  |

			|

			  |
			This contraption is best
described as a small ferris wheel, or a water wheel.

A platform picks up the boat at the bottom
and takes it round to the top of the wheel where it is
released.Secondly, we encounter the amazing whirlpool feature. If I
was to describe it in words, you wouldn't believe it! These pictures
			tell the whole story.

It ends with the boat disappearing down
a chute underneath the structure which of course culminates in a
rather big splash at the bottom! |

			|

			   |

New to the park this 2003
year was an indoor childrens' play and discovery area.

			It contains miniature rides, rubber
ball pits etc, together with the fascinating cycling clown and the
ridiculously heavy graphite ball which floats on a thin film of
water so you can spin it. |
